I will learn my camera "one step at a time"!

I set out on this very warm November day looking for an image to photograph. I decided, when seeing these stairs, to create an image instead. I practiced using shutter speeds and self-timer to create a sense of motion.

I was happy with the results here. Though my legs become more 'ghostly' as I climb the stairs, there is enough pant and sneaker to see what I am doing. These aren't spectacular images; however, I put my soul into it..get it? I crack myself up!

Hey who's the new guy? Your pics came out really good. Did you use aperature too? I like the progression of the legs on the stairs. Very interesting!

Great idea Steve!! I really like the second one. This is no easy thing. I've tried it and it takes a lot of experimentation to get the correct shutter speed and the correct "walking speed" so that you don't appear as a streak. Nice, nice job! Did you check out the blog of the new guy? Great images.

You're too modest...those images are spectacular! What exposure setting and ISO did you use? It IS very difficult to achieve this look...I've tried it many times without success. I can't decide which image I like better, but think I'm leaning towards the second one, because it depicts more motion. I also love those stairs. Great job, Steve! (P.S. 63 degrees in mid-November...what a treat!!!)

I just picked up a Canon XSi. I just got into this whole photography thing a month or two ago, though I've been interested in it for years. It's a lot of fun! Wish I started sooner.
