Finally, Some Snow!...and rain, sleet, etc.
"Will we have school tomorrow Mr. V?" one of my students asked as we walked together to the nurse's office. I responded by saying, "Oh Mike, I don't think I should say because it would put a jinx on it. Besides you guys (students) get way too excited about stuff like that." So what is the first thing the nurse says?? "See you Monday!!" Of course, Mike and I make eye contact as I give a disapproving look as if I'm saying that the nurse was out of line. I'm such a good teacher, such a role model. I then escorted Mike to the lunch line, a twenty second walk from the nurse's office. "Have a great weekend Steve!" exclaims the lunch lady. Again Mike looks at me and once again I give him that look that suggests the lunch lady is also a bit too excited about a snow day. After all, Mike was in trouble today and part of my job escorting him around was to subdue him and keep him focused. He needed to learn to take responsibility and act more maturely. Ten seconds later, paying the cashier, I hear her tell Mike, "No school tomorrow buddy!" Mike looked at me and laughed. He knew what I was thinking. Perhaps it is time for snow and snow days! Am I the only one that likes school? Am I a scrooge? Am I an old man in a young man's hot body? Am I too stuffy? Am I too conservative, too professional??
As I was taking these pictures and feeling the sleet pellets hit my skin, I admit there was only one thing I could think......

Great post! As I told Trish, my wish is that everyone can stay home and SAFE tomorrow. Love your story.
What do I want at 4:30 in the morning?
Your story about guideing a hyper kid around is fascinating. Fonda Fulton ville must be excellent .
Curse that lunch lady and nurse! I think they did jinx it:) I liked the last picture the best. What the heck is it anyway?
Very fun post, Steve! Looks like we didn't get our wish. :-( I really like the angle of your first image; love the window shot in the second (but I want to see more of the window!); and found the last image fascinating. What IS it, anyway?
Drive carefully on your way in this morning!
I TAKE IT ALL BACK LUNCH LADY AND NURSE! YOU ARE MY HEROES! NO SCHOOL TODAY!!!!!!!
