Car Fire!!!

Always bring your camera because news happens fast! Last week there was a fire in Amsterdam at the same time I drove by...I was there before the firetrucks!!...but no camera.
Well today I was there when this car was engulfed on the side of the road. The heat was intense and Im happy I was far enough away with the telephoto lens..otherwise I wouldn't have been able to take this. Luckily, no one was hurt..the people were outside with the firemen.

Lesson well learned - be prepared!

It's a great shot and exposure is great. Did u get any at less zoom - wait it was a telephoto, yes?

I know a good prime lens is second to none, but the framing flexibility of a zoom has a lot going for it too.

I use a 17-85mm as my standard lens and a 70-300 for longer distance work.

Is this one of your filter tricks, or is it REALLY a car on fire? :-) I can't believe you were out last week WITHOUT your camera, but you sure made up for it with this scorcher! Love the tight cropping, and the colorful flames are wild! Just glad nobody was hurt, including you! :-) Great capture!!!!!

Wow, it's amazing. I thought maybe you used a filter too. But if you say it's real, I believe you. It's also mysterious, with the cracked windshield and just bits and pieces of the car visible. Glad that no one was hurt!

Okay, I was duped. I feel foolish. But great image and use of special effects. You're getting pretty "crafty".
