Touched By An Angel

The Angel is back! I used candlelight once again to add drama and interesting shadows to the subject. I like these results.

Do angels exist? Maybe we just want them to. If angels do exist, do they take the form of people we have lost? Could my grandmother be one? If they don't exist, does it matter if we think that they do? If it brings one comfort to believe, perhaps the truth doesn't have any weight. Maybe we spend too much time analyzing different beliefs and judging the beliefs of others simply because they don't match our own. It seems rather arrogant to me sometimes. After all, it's all faith, isn't it? Why is one person's faith less worthy than another person that believes, in his heart, that he is correct? I just finished a documentary which brought these feelings to the surface. Regardless of what faith and belief you, the reader of this blog, holds dear, I wish you a peaceful night.

Hey, I like to think that they do exist. Even though I myself a buddhist. Beliefs of any kind is what kept us all challenging our day. Without it, we might as well not be here.
Love the result of the color, by the way. Well done!

Great sentiments and thanks for the wish of a peaceful evening. I love the deep shadows of the first picture. Which documentary did you watch? Sounds interesting! And yes, they do exist!

"Touched by an Angel"...isn't that the name of an old TV show? Yes, I believe we are touched by angels.

Once again, wonderful images, Steve. My favorite is the first one...I love your angel's expression and the warm tone of the image (must be enlarged to be appreciated even more!!!). I also enjoyed your writing...sorry if I don't tell you that often enough. I think you should do a whole book, just on your angels.
:-)

I remember this little guy!
Cool technique! I love the way it goes from well-lit to complete darkness from left to right. awesome contrast. I also really like the orange glow. What were your camera settings? I'd love to know!

These shots are beautiful. The lighting is perfect, and I feel like the angels are watching me, looking me right in the eye. It takes pure talent to capture that! :)

Steve, these are really, really nice. Color is beautiful. And to join the others who have commented, I surely do believe that angels exist. I used this verse in another blog comment, but scripture says that we should not "fear to entertain strangers, for we may be entertaining angels unawares".
