Cross..A Controversy

Maybe it is a bit too dramatic to suggest that the cross, in any form, is undergoing mass criticism; however in some religious and historical circles the cross is under attack. I've been doing a lot of reading and watching videos on different religious matters within historical context. When I saw this crucifix, beyond the doors of this vault, I was reminded about all that I have explored on the issue. To some, the cross has been a symbol of comfort and peace while many others have been literally killed by those wearing the cross. This, of course, goes back to the early Greeks and Romans. It has always fascinated me how religion and historical happenings have influenced one another to determine an outcome that is sometimes favorable to the average citizen and sometimes not.

Did you alter the colors? They are wild in this photo! Very catchy! It's sad how man takes something that was supposed to represent peace and love and uses it to turn people against one another.

I was wondering if you manipulated the colors, too. The image is very original looking...and I enjoyed the history lesson!

Nice image and thoughtful commentary accompanying it. We could spend years and years exploring that topic. God must be truly saddened that so much horror has been committed in His Name. Sigh. Good job framing the cross with the window of the door.
