Weathered Framed Art

A friend of mine hunts, during the Christmas season, for anything "pear". She gives a pear as a gift to an art friend of hers each and every year. When I saw this framed pear, I liked the weathered frame and, of course, the art work inside. The art work is also weathered and so the clarity is a little diminished. Since I only have one photo today, I experimented with filters to create very different images.

Steve, I'm glad I visited. Old picture frames can enliven the subject it frames. My wife came into posession of a print of her great grandfather's sailing ship. It took me weeks to find the perfect weathered frame. Thanks.

What a great subject for your Friday Shoot Out assignment! I love the experimentation and creativity to get such different looks out of one image. My favorite is #1! :-)

Hey Steve that is really neat ..now that you say it the frame can also be part of the piece of art...can I steal your idea and post some of the things my father did with frames with his work?

I can't decide which I like best, but they are all interesting. I love the weathered frame, that is such a great look! and yes, it was a sunset from the night before!

What a great idea! I think I like the middle pictures the best. The frame is very shabby chic. Love it!

I love old frames and my son stole everyone for his own college apartment, so I guess that says a lot about my decor tastes rubbing off on him, lol, yours make me yearn for some...
