Blk/Wht...Which is more appealing here?
Thursday's assignment was to take an image in color and in blk/wht. It is interesting to see how each subject/image compares. I like the blk/wht image here but it does not always work that way. What do you think?
I am a color person, I see better in color than with depth of field.(blind in one eye) but your blk /wht seems to lend more mystery to the photo which of course part of the appeal of praying hands.
There is a subtle difference between the two images, but no question about it...my favorite is definitely the b/w!
Besides the tone, the composition of the b/w is more appealing to me as well. I like how more of the neck is showing, and the shadow on the right side.
I cheated on my assignment, but you didn't. Great job!!!
Okay, I'll be the oddball here. I like them both, but I prefer the color image, even though I like the tone of the bw better. The bw drops off into such blackness on the right, with no detail at all, that it makes me feel uneasy. My eye keeps going there hoping to see some vague shape.

I also really like the 2nd one.
B/W hands down, love the shadows going on there. Very mysterious!

Nice experiment.
