Friday Shoot Out !!
I've joined a group of photographers that participate in "Friday Shoot Out". A topic is given and one has to post that theme on Friday. The theme this week is 'Eating Outside'. I'm new to this group so I hope I did the assignment correctly.
Yesterday, a beautiful day, was the perfect day to eat outside. Nothing says summer more than watermelon! Here, my niece and I have fun trying to capture this summer time tradition.
Below is a photo taken on Friday for another project I am involved in. For those who have not yet caught onto my blog, this challenge is to take a photo every day for 365 days in a row. Unlike yesterday, today was rainy...AGAIN. Passing by the tennis courts I was struck by the midday fog forming over the warm courts.

Welcome to the shoot out gang! The first rule is - there are not rules. Well, the only one is that the theme has to be something everyone can do, for example, if I lived near water I can't pick boats, since some shooters live in the desert. :)
You did a beautiful job, your model is just stunning! She is really a pretty girl.
I like your rainy tennis court too.
So glad you joined us!!! I really enjoy your eye!! Wonderful shots. We just polished off a watermelon here - love the black fingernails - lol - Hanna likes those too - ackkkkk!!
I really liked the tennis court pic - I do love misty pics!! Sarah
There is no mistaking the smile that come from a good watermelon. Juice on the cheeks and running down the chin, what a great way to spend the afternoon! The hope of ever photographer is to create or invoke a feeling in the viewer. You've done it! I want some watermelon, licking the screen just will not do!!!!!
Welcome to the shootouts, and there is no right or wrong way to do these! You did a marvelous job!
cool, i love watermelons
G'day and welcome to the group ...
love love the colour of that watermelon.
Hi Steve...remember me? :-)
Great series for your first "Friday Shoot Out!" Your niece made a terrific model...love the watermelon juice on her cheek! Really pretty lighting for those shots, too. I was also impressed with your tennis court image...you have a great eye!!! :-)
I'm so backed up on comments. First, I love your watermelon pictures which are so vibrant and give off a great feel of juiciness! Then looking back, I really enjoyed the flower and the jar, both of which had some interesting techniques, the blur and great DOF. 'Christine' is great in the sepia tone, really pops on the screen. Nice job all together! Seems like you are making some new photo friends with your unique style!
Wonderful photos. Can taste the colour of the watermelon even. I'm going to love visiting your blog on Fridays!
Welcome to our gang!! Great pictures! Love your blog.

i esp like the one that shows your nieces dimples.
the rainey tennis court is a great image in a depressing sort of way.
it says all that needs to be said about our summer.
Watermelon is a terrific choice for outdoor food. Your colors are vivid and your photos are great. Thanks for participating with the gang.

I am working my way up the list instead of down. Gosh, it is almost Friday and I am still working on last Friday. You can see our need to limit our shooters.
Welcome to our little gang of shooters. Hope to see more of your work.
I love the colors in the watermelon. Rich and sweet...I can just taste that watermelon now.
