Experimenting

I really thought this was cool...at first. Now there is something that really bothers me. I won't tell you what but wonder if you think it's cool or if something bothers you too. Don't be afraid to say so! By the way, this isn't my photo of the day as both of these images are "old".

New York State

In all my travels I have taken photos of artwork found on the sides of buildings. I knew that one day I would blend these photos with one taken on the day of my post. Today I photographed the Historical Johnstown photo and knew that my collage was ready to show. I love driving, without a destination in mind. Finding these gems gives character to those road trips.

Friday-My Town- Shoot Out

The assignment for Friday's Shoot Out is, as I understand it, to capture “Power - where do you get your power? Is it electric, hydroelectric, solar, wind, natural gas? The things that power our towns or it could be things that empower you personally, or places to go to regroup, regenerate your own personal power.” I chose to focus on personal empowerment and places to regroup. In Upstate New York, regenerating means to be near water...that was my inspiration for these photos today. I hope group members enjoy what they see here as I'm sure I will enjoy viewing their sites today.

What Motivates Me To Stay Healthy?

Phil's assignment, I think, is to express what motivates one to stay healthy or how to get healthy. What motivates me to work out and stay healthy is fear of Obama's Health Plan. To mimic a plan that many Canadians and Europeans reject doesn't seem sensible to me. I don't want to be unhealthy under the proposed plan. My care would be questionable and the choices for providers not what I may want for myself. So...fear motivates me!! Sorry Phil.

A Dream??

With these doors I wanted to create a slightly surreal photo, as if one was witnessing the scene in a dream. The "glow" adds to the dream-like feeling along with the bright green grass and plants.

Beyond the doors is a prize winning horse about to be ridden to victory? Perhaps two lovers will escape the summer heat and the eyes of a critical parent by entering the barn? Could this be where wedding pictures are about to be taken, using the doors as a beautiful backdrop? It's your dream now...tell me what role the doors play in your dream.

Stormy Skies

In my travels today I came upon this beautiful church. I knew that the stormy, dark clouds would be dramatic in a black and white photo. This church is on a main road so I had to crop it fairly high to avoid the street. I think it came out pretty well. It's somewhat dark and gloomy but as we all know that is what our summer has been.
