Basement Stairs

These cellar stairs were eerie as the lone light bulb flickered often.  I'm riding out the storm and trying to pass time before the power goes out.  These might not be the best photos but it is therapeutic for me. Am I the only one very worried about a flooded basement and falling trees?  This is when I wish I lived in an apartment!

No, you're not the only one who is worried about a flooded basement and falling trees! (So far so good with the basement, but a fallen tree limb is blocking access to our driveway!)

These images certainly do depict an eerie scene (I can hear the spooky music). My favorite is #1...love the black/white. Did you apply a filter? It is positively glowing! Very cool!!! :-)

Nice post Trish. Having no communication for days I had no sense of the magnitude of the damage. Being isolated reminded me of the days where word of mouth was the only means of communication. We can only hope that people receive the assistance needed.

I like both of the images, but I agree with Trish--the black and white is definitely more powerful for this particular scene.

Glad that things weren't too bad for you--we escaped unscathed too, being so high on the hill, but it broke my heart driving along Rt 5S and seeing all the homes that were affected by Irene.
