Old Time Gate

At a recent photography meeting the topic of 'scene junk', and the need to eliminate it, was raised by Linda, the expert speaker.  In this photo I had to move in tight and at a strong angle in order to get a shot.  I might have just passed up the shot altogether but I liked the shadows and the rustic look of the gate.  In the manipulation process I ended up adding a soft look/glow to make the image a touch more ethereal.  After all, this was in a cemetery.  For what it is worth, enlarging the photo shows the image as intended, much brighter.

I like this. Grunge without even having to use a filter. Nice angle and composition.

Really nice composition! Love the shadows...which lead my eye thru the image to the pretty red flowers. Great job!

The shadows are great and I love the soft haze feature. Glad you learned something and applied it! I think I'd even love if you were closer so that just the pillars and shadows were visible.
