Being Vulnerable

My assignment was to open up and expose oneself. The idea was to show something about oneself that isn't comfortable.
Here is my current vulnerable spot. I had some surgery to remove skin cancer. The black eye and the scar/stitches were more
than I expected. I know I shouldn't be, but I'm embarrassed...vain? I hate to say it because I know others are in worse shape; however, I can't stop feeling a bit "blue". I tinted my photo to match that feeling.

I know you are feeling blue, but you should be proud of this picture. Exposing yourself is never easy, but it's good for the soul. And you won't look that way forever. Time will heal you.

I'm proud of you, Steve, for exposing not only your physical self, but your soul as well.

Excellent interpretation of the assignment, in both the photo and writing.

Welcome back to the world of blogging...I've missed you! :-)

Quiet an interesting photograph out of that one too! Vulnerability almost always leads to good things.

Great image!!! It's sooo hard to reveal yourself to others. Wear that scar as a badge of honor--you're a survivor! Not only physically but emotionally.

the two H are the most important things in life, health & happiness. if you take care of that you'll live a great life & in harmony. the rest should not matter. great to have you back!
