Have you ever noticed how light can bring clarity to the simplest of subjects? At the same time, shadows lurk just beyond the light's reach. I wonder if it is possible to avoid or eliminate altogether the dark edges that encompass clarity.....or if I would even want to.

Is this natural lighting or did you stage it? It really brings a nice glow to the subject. Nice macro!
Very interesting. Makes me want to reach in and straighten them up a little.
The lighting, limited dof and randomness of the Q-tips make it a very appealing image.
